Replacing Missing Firing Pins

Don’t give up if a replacement firing pin is unavailable from your catalog suppliers. Instead, use these tips to solve the problem.

Working with Pins and Punches

One of the things some gun owners—engineers or fairly well-educated hobbyists who have a good grasp of mechanical things—ask about is how to handle the different kinds of pins in their guns. Particularly, they often want to know if their punches are the right ones, or if they can use a slightly different one without damaging their pins.

Time to Put An End to Army Bases as Gun-Free Zones

“Shouldn't an army base be the last place where a terrorist should be able to shoot at people uninterrupted for 10 minutes? After all, an army base is filled with soldiers who carry guns, right? Unfortunately, that is not the case. Beginning in March 1993, under the Clinton administration, the army forbids military personnel from carrying their own personal firearms and mandates that 'a credible and specific threat against [Department of the Army] personnel [exist] in that region' before military personnel 'may be authorized to carry firearms for personal protection.'

Nullification Redux: Resisting Federal Domination

From MonroeRising.com: Recently, a friend and I were lamenting the steady dissolution of our Constitution. It seemed to us that the further our politicians have strayed from the spirit, meaning and intent of the Constitution, the more enervated, disunited and dispirited our nation and its people have become. Discussing how best to remedy the nation’s decline and to restore Constitutional governance, we briefly alluded to the discredited doctrine of nullification about which neither of us knew very much at all. So, I decided to briefly revisit the subject to see what I could learn. In a nutshell, this is it. I hope it will be of some interest to you.

Palm Beach Post Editorial Writer Steps in It

November 24, 2008

PALM BEACH, Fla.--Palm Beach Post editorial writer Jac Wilder VerSteeg thumped a hornet's nest and got dozens of angry gun-owner responses for his Nov. 15 commentary, "Muzzle all that gun paranoia."

He wrote: "Across the country, people afraid that Barack Obama will take away their gun rights are rushing to buy firearms. The word for such people is: suckers.

"Save your money for the mortgage. Save a restaurant worker's job by going out to eat. Democrats are not going to stop you from buying a gun. They are not going to take away the gun(s) you have. If you are a decent, law-abiding adult, it will not become illegal for you to buy or own a gun.

"The danger is that someone who isn't decent or law-abiding will break into your home and steal your gun. Or that a child will find your gun and kill himself playing with it. Or that you will become depressed after losing your job and shoot yourself. But President-elect Obama and the Democrats are not going to send jack-booted thugs to kick down your door and pry your firearm from your cold, dead fingers. They're not that stupid.

"Democrats have learned that gun control is a losing proposition politically. When the Supreme Court ruled that the Second Amendment guarantees an individual's right to bear arms, Barack Obama said he agreed with the decision.

"Rather than worry about gun confiscation, responsible gun owners should start worrying about the Second Amendment hysterics that have been driving the gun-ownership bus for too many years. Just as those who favor abortion rights must realize that they also need to reduce the number of abortions, those who favor gun rights must realize that they need to do more to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and just plain idiots."

Online responses from his readers were overwhelmingly unflattering. Writing on Nov. 19, "Scott" wrote, "Mr. Wilder VerSteeg, You, sir, are either a fool, or a shill for the anti gun lobby. Mr. Obama has made it clear that he will permanently reauthorize the 'assault weapon' ban that became effective in 1994, and expired in 2004."

"Joe the Gun Owner" wrote the same day, "This article has prompted me to go out an buy a gun today."

In sum, there were four pages of responses, and only one comment that remotely took Wilder VerSteeg's side: "matt" wrote on Nov. 17, "Pro gun, Pro choice, Pro Obama."

What these liberal fools fail to realize is that when the citizens are disarmed, they become subjects and history has clearly shown that. Without the 2nd amendment, these liberal journalist will become even more of a propaganda tool then they are today.

Of course, that probably wouldn't bother them anyway. They get paid the same regardless if the write a lie or write the truth.

We no longer have a "watchdog" media. It is now a "lapdog" media.

Will Wilder VerSteeg lose his job if what he's written turns out to be a pack of lies? Will he go to prison for murder if a gun-owner dies because he believed Wilder's lies and refused to surrender his military-pattern sport utility rifle to the SWAT team? Nah. Not Lapdog Wilder.

You go ahead, Wilder. Crouch and lick their hands while they chain you. I don't know you.

What an idiot this guy is and if he truly believes what he wrote I don't know how he gets to work by himself everyday.

Take their guns first, then the Bill of Rights!

Strict gun control really worked for those poor folks in Mumbai didn't it. Even the so-called police didn't fight back, this is the direct result of "Gun-Control". Those "Gun-Free Zone" signs don't stop bullets or even make good grave markers do they? Read the future in today's paper, this is what "Gun-Control" gets you and intelligent people know it. Common sense and gun control is the ultimate oxymoron. Write an editorial against cars, pools, toilets, and bug spray, they all kill more children 18 and under than guns do.
