If someone were to ask you which products Colt has sold over the years, would you say a .22 semiautomatic rifle? I didn’t think you would. Colt made three versions of .22 rifles, the Courier, Colteer and Stagecoach, as well as others under several private-label names for Sears, Wards and other companies. This alloy rifle shot well, but did not hold up well. Unless it was kept oiled and clean, the alloy parts wore very rapidly. In spite of this, the little Colt rifles were good enough lightweight shooters that most owners will pay to get them fixed rather than discard theirs.

Introduced in 1963, the Remington Model 1100 shotgun has been around for over 40 years now. Variations include a sporter for field shooting, a Magnum version for ducks and geese, as well as a skeet and trap model for those who enjoy breaking clay targets. In all, there have been well over 3,500,000 Model 1100s produced over this period of time so you are bound to see one (or more) come across your bench. Sturm, Ruger Introduces New SR-22 AR-Style Rifle

SOUTHPORT, Conn. -- Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. has joined the ranks of manufacturers who are making AR-style rimfire rifles.

The Ruger SR-22TM Rifle is an autoloading rimfire rifle that uses 10/22-style magazines on the new AR-style Ruger SR-556 platform. The new SR-22 Rifle allows shooters to use economical .22 LR ammunition, while still enjoying the look and feel of an “AR.”

The SR-22 Rifle uses a standard 10/22 action inside an all-aluminum chassis that replicates the AR-platform dimensions between the sighting plane, buttstock height, and grip.

The SR-22 Rifle provides a Picatinny rail optic mount, and includes a six-position, telescoping M4-style buttstock (on a Mil-Spec diameter tube), plus a Hogue Monogrip pistol grip. Buttstocks and grips may be swapped out for any AR-style compatible option.

The SR-22 Rifle is equipped with a cold hammer forged alloy steel barrel that is 16-1/8” long and is capped with an SR-556/Mini-14 flash suppressor mounted with a ½”-28 thread.

Oh, for cryin' out loud. This is a 10/22? For $625? Didn't we get over that "looks and feels" cosmetic crap when the AWB expired?

I'm saving my money. Ruger has great revolvers, pretty good bolt & single-shot rifles, and damned little else any more. /rant.

The 10/22 is a fine little gun. I have 3, set up in different ways. This seems like a waste to me, though. For less than $100 a Tapco stock accomplishes the same thing, and used 10/22s can be had for $100 or so.

Just picked up the new SR-22. Can't wait to shoot it. I would agree with some post that it's nothing more than a cool looking 10-22. However, when you collect 22's it's a gteat compliment to the collection. It's really no different than my AR-15 style air soft gun that comes in at $300.00. With regards to the comment about AWB, seriously? Lastly, it's better than the Colt and Smith & Wesson want-a-bes. Have fun gang and be safe.

I have both a Ruger SR-22 and a S&W MP15-22. They are both fantastic weapons and shoot great. The S&W functioned flawlessly from the start using bulk Federal 22 ammo bought at WallyWorld. Using the Federal 22s in the SR-22 produced a feed/eject malfunction 3 to 5 times per 30 round magazine. Changed to CCI ammo in the SR-22 and the problem cleared up. I have equipped my SR-22 with an EOTech 512 sight, added the Ruger Full length rail to the forward section and a bipod. Really makes the SR-22 look mean and with the holographic sight it is a spot on shooter. Love it
