Foul! American Rifleman (AR), the NRA's mouthpiece, misses the mark here. Really!?, a $3,500+ scope is 2012 Optics of the Year? That's like saying an M1 Abrams is the tank of the year...what average American can afford a $3,500 scope. Only the beautiful people can afford stuff like that. Nothing against the product, Leupold is a fine American company and I own a few Leupolds. I'm a lifetime NRA member, retired military officer, gun dealer and gunsmith but I don't think anything ought to be named "something of the year" unless it is reasonable for the average working American to own. Some gunwriters for add-supported mags live in ivory towers like our politicians in DC...no doubt one hand washes the other. These people are so far out of touch with reality its useless to even argue with them. Make no mistake that these affluent, influential contributors to AR and other add-supported gun mags, the beautiful people who are so folksy in their manner, would throw you (and me) under the bus if came to you or them...I'm proud I'm not one of those beautiful people, at least I'm in touch with reality and the average working American.
