(GunReports.com) -- A Peoria, Arizona, police sergeant posted a photo of seven local high school students -- four with guns and one holding up a T-shirt with a bullet-riddled image of President Barack Obama.
The photo appeared on the Facebook page of Pat Shearer, a 25-year Peoria police sergeant. He remains on active duty, but faces an internal investigation on the matter and a U.S. Secret Service follow-up.
"Any time information like this is brought to our attention we have to conduct a follow-up," Max Milien, spokesman for the Secret Service, told the Arizona Republic newspaper.
Milien described the Facebook post in the category of "unusual direction of interest," which would merit an agency follow-up, he said.
"We understand an individual's right to free speech but we also have the right to speak to the individual to determine what their intent is," Milien added.

It doesn't matter where your political interests lay, If any professional would use the image of our president for a target, and influence young persons with this ridiculousness, then they need to be reprimanded, AND NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE CHILDREN IN THEIR PRESENCE UNLESS SUPERVISED. This sgt is from the same state as Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and he should remember the "Crosshairs" controversy that happened when some political ads showed crosshairs over several Democrat candidates. I understand what he is trying to portray but bullet holes on a picture of a living person is morally wrong (unless it was Hitler or Saddam Hussein back when they were living). There are much better ways to portray an image of someone who you want out of office. This is one of the more stupid gimmicks that a man, who is sworn to uphold the law, can get involved with. One could conceivably make a case against him that might include conspiracy to assassinate a president. Ya have to wonder just how far up the anal opening some people have stuck their heads. I'm confused. It was a picture of students, not to include the officer himself, right? So did he encourage shooting up the shirt? Did he make some comment about how this should happen? Did he make any comment about it at all, as in "this is terrible"? I'm not seeing that in the story. Did I miss it? Or do the feds just want to find those kids and have the military 'detain' them until 2085? davidb is correct. Be sure to do some of your own research - doctors can't very well take care of a lot of patients and stay up to date too, and there are lots of things they are simply not permitted to do (by FDA or AMA) that do work. Not everybody responds to things like vitamins & herbs, or holistic solutions - but then, some prescription drugs only work for about 60% of the people they give them to, and most will harm some percentage of the people who take them (read the contraindications some time).
