Botox and Bullets Get Away
Set for January

(GunReports.com) -- A Junction, Texas-based boutique destination facility called Dry Hollow Ranch will begin offering "Botox and Bullets Get Aways" for women, beginning in January 2012.

"This would be a great weekend for women who have been wanting to get their Texas Concealed Carry Handgun license," said Dry Hollow Ranch Goddess Kathy Dietert. "The class includes instruction in the comfort of the lodge and live shooting at Dry Hollow's shooting range. What a great way to receive the state-mandated instruction in a relaxed environment and have fun with your besties all at the same time!"

Also included in a Botox and Bullets Get Away can be treatments provided on site at the lodge by Bella Luz of Kerrville, a medical aesthetics and cosmetic laser center and spa. The doctor-supervised treatments can range from Botox injections, fillers, spa facials, massages, manicures and pedicures, waxing, and most other services as offered in-office by Bella Luz.

"And of course you and your gal pals will be wined and dined the entire time with not a thing for you to do but enjoy spending that special girl time together," said Dietert.

All Get Aways will include full and exclusive use of the new upscale lodge, all meals and adult beverages, and the theme activities you choose for the weekend.

The Botox and Bullets Get Away weekend is $895 per person for the All Inclusive three-day, two-night stay. For a limited time, make it a three-night Get Away by adding a Thursday or a Monday night for no extra charge! The first Botox and Bullets Get Away will be January 20-22, 2012.

People considering attending this event need to do their homework before undergoing medical treatments. Some good advice about injectables may be found here: http://www.injectablesafety.org/consumers/choosing_your_doctor

Sounds great. Where do I sign up? They wouldn't discriminate by gender would they?

I applaud the weekend getaway for women to qualify for their CHL, but the Botox part of it leaves me sort of cold. Lets remember how everybody sorta flocked to the silicone implants.....and later found out that the damned things leaked, causing untold horrors for the women who had them. Botox is a preparation of botulinum toxin extracted from a pathogenic bacterium Clostridium botulinum which causes the intoxication disease of botulism food poisoning. We hear about it every now and again when somebody opens up a can of improperly canned food in which the organism has survived the canning process. It is known to kill. So what makes people think that this toxin is OK for injection into the body while eating the stuff can kill you?

Frankly I'm wondering how many women in the age group where they want Botox would even consider going to a place like "Dry Hollow"? Isn't that sort of negative advertising? And what's this about "that special girl time together"? Just which demographic is their target market? This sounds to me like the female equal of us all going to get hair transplants and training at the Sausage Mesa ranch. I don't know if I should laugh, think this is a joke, or what.

Keep making fun, Boys. You all have your 'getaways' which - among other things - include 'boys' night out', 'hunting' camp, and 'fishing' trips - and wouldn't attend if a good time couldn't be had by all. Women need to learn how to protect themselves and a CHL camp with the proper training is the right way to do it. Don't knock what you don't know about. We 'girls' have our society, too; it's just different from what you 'good old boys' have. I'm 63; and I'd definitely go for the training, some adult beverages, and a sweet massage. I already have a CHL for 32 other states. Why not add another?!

Really, Mother Pearl, I meant to poke fun at the marketing, not the concept. If I could get my GF and her girls to go to something like this, I'd write the check for the four of them in a heartbeat, just to get them trained. If massages and mimosas is what it takes, fine with me. It's the word choices used in the marketing that made me snarky. Sorry, I can't help it. I'm just a jerk at heart.

Hey Mother Pearl...Why so touchy? I don't see any post in this thread that's making fun of you. As you may review from my post above, "I applaud the weekend getaway for women to qualify for their CHL". If you are offended by my cautions dealing with Botox, perhaps you should avail yourself of some scientific data that describe the mechanisms involved in the application of the Botulinum toxin that is extracted from the deadly Clostridium botulinum microorganism. I had some intimate experience, in another life, with C. botulinum when I worked in some government laboratories in quest of toxic compounds that might be used as weapons of war.

I have been posting in this forum for several years, and we have always welcomed participation from our female counterparts. Oh, by-the-way, as I navigate my 8th decade of life, I am not one of the guys who has the "boys night out" thing, as I am quite content to keep my aging wife company and coach her in the use of her eight handguns.

Mother Peal, If I could aford it and my sweet little Native America Better Half wanted to go and have a great message and some good food and adult no acohalic beverages and get to do some shootin, I would right a check in a heart beat. And like canovack this disabled Veteran dosen't have a lot of them "boys night out" things. God Bless America and Our Troops Past Present and Future.
