CCRKBA Visiting Chicago to Say 'Guns Save Lives'February 27, 2011

(GunReports.com) -- The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms will be visiting Chicago to counter billionaire New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's campaign of fear against Prairie State firearms owners. CCRKBA will be in the Windy City Feb. 28, 2011, through March 4, 2011.
Bloomberg has teamed up with Mayors Against Illegal Guns to send a moving billboard truck around the country claiming that 34 Americans are "murdered with guns every day." CCRKBA Chairman Alan M. Gottlieb said Bloomberg's campaign "tells less than half of a story, so we're today setting the record straight in Illinois."
"We're answering Bloomberg's flash with genuine substance," he explained. "We are telling people what Bloomberg isn't telling them. Guns save between 800,000 and 2.5 million lives annually. That's 2,100 to 6,800 people every day who successfully use firearms to defend themselves, or prevent a criminal attack. In the majority of those incidents, no shots are fired, and nobody is injured or killed. In some cases where shots are fired by armed citizens, several lives are saved."
CCRKBA has teamed up with the Second Amendment Foundation, which will produce educational materials on firearms rights, the number of lives saved and the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.
"Bloomberg's campaign is a smokescreen," he continued. "America needs to look behind the façade to see that his ultimate goal is to convince Congress to implement New York-style gun control laws, ban most semiautomatic firearms, stretch background checks out to between six and nine months, and to put gun shows out of business."
"No mayor, regardless how wealthy he is, should dictate to Congress or the people of Illinois the terms of their civil rights," Gottlieb said. "Michael Bloomberg is spreading hysteria about gun rights. We're spreading the truth."
Okay, but why is CCRKBA "...visiting Chicago to counter billionaire New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's campaign..."? Shouldn't they go right to New York? Although I don't imagine the welcome from the denizens and their masters at either plutocracy will be very cordial.
Gaviota: My guess is that, since Bloomberg has taken his show on the road, they are following in his wake to "set the record straight". I suspect they will eventually visit New York. I certainly hope so.
Bloomberg isn't worried about New York. He's got his eye on the White House, hence the national attention.
WHERE ? TIME ?
Bloomberg. White House.
New York mayors have not had a particularly good record at running for the White House. If Giuliani couldn't make it, how could a totally depraved and deluded guy like Bloomberg stand a chance? While I am a firm believer in "Never saying Never", it seems that Bloomberg has made an ass of himself enough times to preclude any serious candidacy.
Bloomberg is a creepy aristocrat.
Mayors of New York City have long thought themselves to be Presidential timber. In point of fact none of them are even of decent twig size. The Blooming Idiot's only claim to fame is that he has successfully bought enough votes to get elected, and bought them from a substantial private fortune. Fine. Let him go on the hustings, spend a lot of money, and see his message reviled.
McCain somehow got the Republican nod last time. I still don't know how. The more I think about it the less sense it makes. Maybe Bloomberg does have a chance.
OK, so Obama got elected with absolutely no executive experience (i.e. CEO, governor, boss, etc.) and two years as a senator where all he really did was campaign for president. He had very favorable media support, and an unprecedented campaign warchest. I've heard estimates that he will raise $1 billion for 2012.
Bloomingidiot can easily best Obama's funding out of his private finances if he chooses. He has executive experience in running his own company and as a prominent governor. Last, his private sector executive experience was in the media, so he is guaranteed support from the entertainalists.
Personally, he is a spoiled brat who should have been sent home after his second New York term. He is also a criminal for aiding and abetting straw purchases and other firearms crimes, and should be in federal prison with terrorists, rapists, and child molesters. Unfortunately, he also has a huge ego drive and control issues from Hell. Throw that in with an endless supply of money.......
Do you really think he is simply out there because he's all about "reasonable" firearms laws?
The truly frightening thing is that Bloomie, and the goobers like him, do genuinely believe that they are being "reasonable." It's not just about gun laws, that's just his nose under the tent. They know what's best for the rest of us--what we should be allowed to purchase, what sort of life we should have, everything. Just give it up to them and they will be good and "reasonable." All would-be dictators know what's best. In opposing them, and wanting to take charge of our own lives, we are being unreasonable and irrational. That is something they cannot stand.
To Bloomie, Obama, et al. we need to raise the coiled rattlesnake flag and reiterate the motto, "Don't tread on me." Any collectivist who violates this does so at their own peril.
PVB and Visigoth52 you both said alot in fact the same thing I have been say for along time. Infact the first time Ol Bloomy pull his straw buys and the USAG did nothing I asked thr NRA why they didn't yell all hell about his braking the law. and they did nothing and still do nothing. God Bless America and Our Troops Past Present and Future.
