Please, Senator Cornyn, stay on top of this. I am a gun dealer in Texas that knows every one who get a gun, police officers, FBI agents and every citizen must pass the ATF background check. These are bad things that have been approved and government forms have been falsified for it to happen. I beg you to keep this at the top of your legislative list or the U.S. Constitution will be trampled by the people who are supposed to uphold it.

I think this farce has been going on for too long. It is time to start the impeachment process from the President on down and get rid of all these so-called "elected officials" and put someone in charge that will understand that the government is supposed to be "Of the People, by the people, and for the people".

I can only think of one agency more illicit than the DOJ [The WH obviously, but it is not an agency.] and that is the Env. Prot. Agency. Having retired from that agency after 25 years in 1998 when I totally became sick of the B***S***, I know from experience. Nearly 75% of EPA's regulations have no, none, zippo, basis on sound science. How's that for protecting the environment. BTW... Read about the wind farms in Calif. and the raptors and other endangered bird species killed? Any F&WLFS response? Endangered Species complaints? EPA certainly screwed the oil industry.

It's crap like this that causes good, loyal Americans to wonder what on earth is going on inside their government. If Obama is such a proponent of transparent government, he needs to clean house at the upper echelons of his administration. With an approval rating of 37%, one would think that if he cleaned out the miscreants in his administration, his approval ratings woulds quickly rise. If he continues to sit idly by, while DOJ stonewalls this investigation, he will simply be scuttling his own chances for re-election.

Obama a fan of transparent government? Not hardly! I'll bet he has plenty of "metrics" next year to show us how transparent he has been... He can't clean out his miscreants, because he is one of them.
EPA - where's the separation of powers - executive, legislative, judicial? There is none and never has been. They decide what laws are needed, draft the laws, and determine the punishment for violators. All the other "agencies" are starting to do that as well. I would have thought somebody would have sued for separation of powers long ago!

LARRY J - sadly The Constitution is ALREADY being trampled by those sworn to uphold it - and sworn on the capitol steps in front of thousands. What did you think the Patriot Act was? Ever read it? It's a stake driven into the heart of a republic.

PVB, if you recall, during the 2008 campaigns, Obama made much of the need for transparent government. It was one of the many, many campaign promises that he broke.

Canovack - I do recall. Sorry, I was being sarcastic again. I think my umpteenth-phone-call waiting-on-the-third-trip-back for warranty Toshiba-hating was affecting my writing!

I have an idea for a reward for these folks: How about a loooong all expenses paid stay with some new, very close personal friends in that garden spot of the U.S., Leavenworth,KS?

Now THAT would be enemapoetic!! ;)

The people that are responsible for the Fast and Furious should be in Leavenworth. The time has come when politicians break the law they are fired and go to jail. It is crazy to see them keep their jobs and nothing happens to them. Why are they above the law?

Justice will only come about when as our founders stated that every two hundred years we must have a revolution to clean up the corruption. Its been over two hundred years and look what we have. I'm actually scare that we have a back boneless society today that won't take the appropriate action.

Back when the issue was Watergate, politicians went to prison and/or resigned because they broke the law. But that was the Nixon gang of idiots. When it's the Obama gang of socialists, a little law-breaking seems to be okey-doke. Depends on whose ox is being gored, I guess. And simondcat, this country still has a backbone, but it exists among those who, to quote the socialist, "cling to their guns and religion." It also exists among those older folks who have believed in this nation, it's people, and it's constitution for all of their lives.

Got ya loud and clear, Visigoth52! I roger that!

We have between 30 & 50 percent (depends on who & what is included) of the population on some type of public dole so why should they protest and have a revolution. It's you and me paying for this. I'm in my 70's. I'm not afraid or a rebellion or a revolution. I only hope Dear Ole Janet Napolitano monitors Cornyn's mail.

Larry J - take it one step further: We've been hearing about 9-10% unemployment figures a lot over the last few years, and we all should know at this point they are only those currently filing for unemployment. I think it was for the 2009 tax year where I read that only 52% of Americans payed any income tax. Social Security, unemployment, and retirement plans are taxable, so that's all included in the 52%. Probably a little more than a third of the population is actually working right now, and pulling the entire economic load for the rest of the country. Any wonder why we are fed up and feel like we are in the minority?
