Gun Tests Magazine Ammunition Testing Protocol

GunReports.com publishes the detailed ammo-testing protocol from Gun Tests magazine, the most commonly requested addition to Gun Tests coverage. Gun Tests' focus is on performance before the bullet hits the target. 'We realize that results from our test gun can’t be extrapolated to every possible gun readers might own, we wanted to test ammunition in a fashion most consumers would be able to duplicate, and in fact, should conduct on their own. But our framework can potentially save you money and time by narrowing the list of candidates you might try in your own gun, and you can also follow our system to see if a given round performs for you like it did for us.

Will Harvard Online Library of Firearms Research Tilt Anti-Gun?

(GunReports.com)--A new firearms research database launched by the Harvard School of Public Health purports to make scholarly articles more accessible to reporters, law enforcement, public health officials, policymakers, and the general public. But gun owners are right to worry that the database will not be even-handed in reporting both sides of gun ownership.

Do Gun Rights Protect Against Tyranny?

(GunReports.com)--Warren Richey, staff writer for the Christian Science Monitor, authored a piece this week that began, 'The U.S. Supreme Court is considering what could be a landmark decision on individual gun rights. LONDONDERRY, N.H.--Like to shoot in the dark? Then make plans to compete in the Day-Night-Day match being held December 12-13 at The Range in Oxford, N.C.

The Day-Night-Day match is comprised of three separate events and competitors compete in one, two or all three events. During the Night Championship, competitors will negotiate six courses of fire under the low light conditions of the winter evening sky.

“Our night match is one of the few true low light outdoor matches in the country making it a big draw for serious handgun competitors, bringing in shooters from the IDPA, USPSA and ICORE disciplines. We expect this year’s match to be the best ever,” said Scott Ruby, sponsor coordinator for the Day-Night-Day match.

The Range is widely regarded in the competition community for the quality of its matches and challenging course designs. It is also home to the Carolina Cup, one of the three major matches on the IDPA circuit.

More than 18,000 rounds will be put downrange across all three matches as competitors compete for titles in two divisions – Weapon Mounted Lights or Handheld Lights.
