GOP Candidate Holds 'Machine Gun Social'

September 28, 2009

GREENVILLE, SC -- A South Carolina candidate for the state's adjutant general position held a "machine gun social" at Allen Arms Indoor Range as his first campaign fundraiser.

Dean Allen is running to become adjutant general, who is in charge of the states defense forces such as the South Carolina National Guard.

For $25, donors to his campaign got barbecue and a chance to fire the machine gun of their choice. The highlight of the event was the big giveaway, one AK-47 valued at around $700.

Allen chose the venue because it reflects his emphasis on Second Amendment rights.

The winner of the AK-47 will have to pass a background check before taking it home.

Adjutant General? This guy belongs on the ticket for Senator! And how cool would it be to pay $25 bucks, eat South Carolina BBQ (which is some of the best on the planet), shoot a machine gun, an M16A2 from the look of it, and walk away with an AK-47? What a great country!

I'm envious.

Gaviota

I'm with you Gaviota, maybe this will be the start of a trend.

Rat a tat tat tat tat tat tat tat !

Oh Yes! There is nothing quite like the sound of full automatic fire.....music to these old (and hard-of-hearing) ears. Last year, I attended our city's Citizens' Police Academy. It was a well presented course that met once a week for about four months. It really was a great way for us to learn the ins and outs of our police department, along with gaining an understanding of the problems with which the department has to deal. A couple of highlights of the course was the ride-along with an officer on his shift and.....range day. During range day, we were treated to many demonstrations, and.....we all got to burn several hundred rounds in full automatic fire using H&K MP5s. I'd guess that was the first full automatic fire I'd participated in since I was with the 4th Infantry Division in Vietnam. What a hoot!

Allen Arms Indoor Range? Any connection to Dean Allen? Family, etc.? Senator?! To bad he is not getting nominated/appointed to the US Supreme Court. Lock & Load.

I would love to have an H&K MP5. Howdy Col.

I had my fill of automatic fire and as a result cleaned my M60 so many times I could complete the task while blindfolded. I wouldn't mind firing an M47 Dragon, but you won't find it at an indoor range.

Boy that would have been fun but indoor ranges don't have my favorite full auto, the good ol great Ma Deuce, man do I love firing a twin set of them. God Bless America and Our Troops, Past, Present and Future. Keeping to My Oath Locked Loaded and Keeping My Powder Dry

Hey Bear1, have you been feeling okay? I haven't seen you post in awhile. If you've been feeling under the weather, take echinacea to boost your immune system. Dry gun powder is useless if you're not around to use it.

Jeff W thank You for your concern, and as a matter of fact This Ol Bear has been a bit under the weather as of fact the old Agent Orange been kicking up and got my yearly Chest and head cold after getting a ADA fishing Deck Build and Dedacated in Better Half's mother Name. Now alot of disabled Vets and people can go fishing. Thanks again for caring. God Bless America and Our Troops Past, Present and Future Keeping to My Oath, Locked Loaded and Keeping My Powder Dry
