‘The Debutante Hunters’ Wins the Yahoo!/Sundance 2012 Shorts Competition

(GunReports.com) -- Maria White's "The Debutante Hunters," won the audience award and the producer-director walked away from the Sundance 2012 Awards Night Ceremony in Park City with a $5,000 check.

Her documentary, about a group of Southern belles who show their good old girl sides while hunting the backwoods, was culled from over 7,000 short films submitted to the festival. Then Yahoo! movie experts, in conjunction with festival programmers, winnowed that number down from eighty to nine to be streamed on the website.

After going on a hunt with her friend Kristy Olson Cuthbert, White knew she had her subject: "This was a world I wanted to explore, where a woman can be feminine, a mother, a daughter, and still be a total badass."

Wow, hot women with guns and dead animals. I'm so excited right now I don't have enough loose skin left to blink my eyes. Where can I find me one like that? Oh, and it's a good film too.

David, david, david...These young ladies are easy to find. Just look in the more rural areas of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and points east. If you want the more sophisticated ones, go to the cities. But one word of warning: Do not piss them off.

I'm lucky I already got one, and your right just don't piss them off unless you got everything locked up tight.

Yeah, that might be a problem. I had a lady like that once - but there was no way to NOT piss that one off. One night, after staring down the barrel of my own .357 I realized I wasn't going to live to get old if I stayed married to her. I'm gettin' old now, so you know how that went down. No matter, she got bigger than a sow bear, and was already meaner, so it wasn't like I lost much.

What's funny is that I liked that attitude when I met her. I just didn't realize I was going to have it turned on me nearly every darned day the rest of my life. Maybe I should have, but I was young - and stupid about women. Not so young now. Still stupid about women.

My old pappy told me that there is only one way to get the last word in with a woman and that is "yes dear" or "yes Ma am" LOL but it dosn't always work, just most of the time.
