(GunReports.com) The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) has announced that it will match two individual rewards of $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for gun store burglaries in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The first theft occurred at approximately 1:40 a.m. on Nov. 4, at Capitol City Pawn, 2541 North Eleventh St., Lincoln, Neb. Seven firearms, all of which were handguns, were stolen during the burglary. This business is a federally licensed firearms retailer.
The second theft occurred at approximately 12:15 a.m. on Nov. 25 at Acher Arms, 1334 South 33rd St., Lincoln, Neb. Ten firearms, all of which were handguns, were stolen during the burglary. This business is also a federally licensed firearms retailer.
The NSSF reward offers match the $2,500 rewards being offered by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
Steve Sanetti, president of the NSSF, said, "Our matching reward offers will hopefully help assist ATF and local law enforcement in solving these crimes against two federally licensed firearms retailers and lead to the swift recovery of stolen firearms before they can enter the illegal underground black market where they can be misused to commit violent crimes."
The matching reward payments by NSSF will be granted only following payments of the initial ATF rewards. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the ATF at 1-800-ATF-GUNS. Callers may remain anonymous.
For any questions about the theft of these firearms, please contact ATF at the number listed above.
Hell, the ATF probably was in on the burglaries, so they can complain about firearms security and revoke the dealer's FFL.
