Firearms Retailer Defense Fund Launched

Firearms Retailer Defense Fund Launched

January 13, 2009

Printer Friendly | Email |

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Firearms Retailer Defense Fund is a new non-profit corporation created to assist independent retailers with legal expenses should they need to defend themselves against industry-altering litigation.

FRDF will accept donations to help independent firearms retailers defray legal expenses they may incur to defend unfair law suits filed by municipalities, politicians or anti-gun organizations.

A legal expert in the firearms industry, Christopher Chiafullo, Esq. from The Chiafullo Group, LLP (and also an appointed member of the FRDF Board of Directors), commented: “Retailers should not feel alone when a plaintiff comes knocking on their door, and FRDF is just one of the resources that will help protect them. A plaintiff’s aim to put a retailer out of business through “bankruptcy by lawsuit” is a very real thing. Having the proper resources and industry expertise in the retailer’s corner will increase his likelihood of success when facing that seemingly impossible fight.”
