Flood of permits for
concealed carry likely in Wisconsin

(GunReports.com) -- The state Department of Justice is expecting an influx of concealed carry permit applications after the law takes effect next month, reports the Green Bay Press-Gazette.
And if Wisconsin residents react to the law like Minnesota and Michigan residents did, the DOJ will see the number of applications increase each year.
After Nov. 1, when Wisconsin's concealed carry law takes effect, residents can apply for a permit to carry a concealed handgun, knife or electronic weapon, such as a Taser.
An initial influx of about 100,000 to 250,000 applications are expected, said Dana Brueck, state DOJ spokeswoman.
"Our surveys have shown an experience of other states that range from 1.5 percent to 13 percent of the population," she said. "This would put us between the range of 50,000 to more than 700,000.

1.5 to 13%? Now, that is s pretty useless statistic - it's way too wide. So, let's just hope that the number is on the high side.
