SHOT Show Video: Two Big-Hole Wheelguns from Kahr Arms

In June 2010, Kahr Arms purchased Minnesota-based firearms manufacturer, Magnum Research, Inc., maker of the Desert Eagle Pistol and BFR Revolvers in .44 Magnum, .45 LC/.410 or .45/70. Kahr Arms offers a selection of other niche-type firearms, such as the “Tommy Gun” and Auto-Ordnance line of M1 .30 caliber carbines. In this video, Gun Tests Contributing Editor Roger Eckstine shows off two of the company’s big-hole BFR wheelguns.

SHOT Show Video: Easy Disassembly for the Modular Beretta Nano

Beretta USA introduced the BU-9 Nano as its entry into the pocket 9mm pistol category last September. Initial shipments of the American-made pistol left the Accokeek, Maryland factory beginning in November 2011, with a suggested retail price of $475. In this video, Gun Tests’ Contributing Editor Roger Eckstine gets a detailed explanation of how easy the Nano is to break down for maintenance. The Nano's modularity provides for simple disassembly and easy cleaning. Safely disassemble the pistol by first engaging the striker deactivator, a patent pending safety mechanism that eliminates the need to pull the trigger prior to disassembly.

Glock Announces Two New Pistols for 2010

January 26, 2010

Printer Friendly | Email |

SMYRNA, Ga.-- Glock has unveiled two new pistols for 2010 – the GLOCK 22 Gen4 and GLOCK 17 Gen4.

The new Gen4s have several new features, most noticeably a multiple backstrap system that allows the user to change the circumference of the grip. The grip has three options; a short frame version, medium frame or large frame that are easily changed and secured with a single pin.

Also, the magazine release catch of the Gen4 is reversible and enlarged. The reversible magazine catch allow users to switch access of the catch to the left or right side of the pistol with no additional parts.

Internally, the original recoil spring has been replaced with a dual recoil spring assembly. The dual recoil spring assembly noticeably reduces the recoil while simultaneously increasing the life cycle of the pistol.

Additionally, the Gen4 has a new Rough Textured Frame (RTF) surface designed to enhance grip traction and is present on the frame as well as the interchangeable backstraps.

Good to see. This is really about the only improvement to the Glock that is needed to make it the perfect service pistol. Now, in my humble opinion, there is none out there that can touch it. My only question? When is the G21 Gen 4 coming out?

TJ L - Glocks are great pistols, but you owe it to yourself to shoot it next to an XD of similar size and weight. Much of it boils down to personal preference - I much prefer the XD trigger, especially after it's well broken in.

These changes are, as usual from Glock, a well thought out improvement on an already fine pistol. I'd sure like to see Glock put the beveled slide muzzle on all their pistols like they have on the G-26/27 models.

I have several handguns,but no Glocks. I have Colts,Rugers,Springfields,and 2 Bursa .380s. I think it's time to try a Glock. Possibly a Gen4

Personally i prefer a S&W M&P .45 for my number one choice. It seems to have the smoothest trigger and all around weapon of my choice.

I was on the range with a glock 22 owner. Firing pin jammed and recoil spring broke. Have they fixed these problems yet?
