re: administration eyeing gun control
Me, I'm eyeing some new gear, and lots of, um, supplies. But I'm not so sure it's just the BO admimnistration. I beleive the wealthy and powerful of the nation and world fear and detest gun owning peons like me. As Thomas Jefferson said, "Men by their constitutions are naturally divided into two parties: 1) Those who fear and distrust the people 2) Those who identify themselves with the people, have confidence in them, cherish and consider them as the most honest and safe . . . depository of the public interest." I think the rich and powerful come to be the first type - by virtue of fearing loss of what they have. Too bad that they have more to fear from their own dishonest kind than from decent working folks - but they just don't seem to see that because so far they all get to prey on us.
Oh, maybe that is why they don't fear each other - as long as they CAN prey on us none of them is hungry enough to kill and eat his own tribe.
re: gun-club extinction
"We're not against people's rights to bear arms or even go to ranges," said Superintendent Randall, a former Marine. "But I think having a live-fire range in the forest preserve is an inappropriate use."
Well, then, perhaps you guys should not have appropriated the land under the club? Now that you have, give them an exemption. There's a half century or more of history showing no problems there.
re: guns in private parking lots
"It also removes any liability from the employer involving the firearm." Now, THERE is a good idea. Most of the employers around me ban them precisely because of liability fears. Not issues mind you, but fears. If they could save insurance dollars or avoid a civil suit by prohibiting farting, they would try.

Where is common sense?
