SHOT Show Video: Two Big-Hole Wheelguns from Kahr Arms

In June 2010, Kahr Arms purchased Minnesota-based firearms manufacturer, Magnum Research, Inc., maker of the Desert Eagle Pistol and BFR Revolvers in .44 Magnum, .45 LC/.410 or .45/70. Kahr Arms offers a selection of other niche-type firearms, such as the “Tommy Gun” and Auto-Ordnance line of M1 .30 caliber carbines. In this video, Gun Tests Contributing Editor Roger Eckstine shows off two of the company’s big-hole BFR wheelguns.

SHOT Show Video: Easy Disassembly for the Modular Beretta Nano

Beretta USA introduced the BU-9 Nano as its entry into the pocket 9mm pistol category last September. Initial shipments of the American-made pistol left the Accokeek, Maryland factory beginning in November 2011, with a suggested retail price of $475. In this video, Gun Tests’ Contributing Editor Roger Eckstine gets a detailed explanation of how easy the Nano is to break down for maintenance. The Nano's modularity provides for simple disassembly and easy cleaning. Safely disassemble the pistol by first engaging the striker deactivator, a patent pending safety mechanism that eliminates the need to pull the trigger prior to disassembly.

JPFO: Gunowners Should Expect the Worst from a Lame-Duck Congress

August 18, 2010

Printer Friendly | Email |

(GunReports.com) -- Aaron Zelman from Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership is worried about the coming lame duck legislative session: He writes:

President Obama has recently dropped his cagey and coy dissembling about his true “gun control” plans. In April of 2009 he once again made it completely clear that he was in favor of a renewed “assault weapon” ban. Obama is no longer laying low on the issue. … No, who can now seriously doubt that Obama, and those who he’s appointed, are not deeply ingrained enemies of the Second Amendment?

So Obama truly has nothing to lose…and everything to gain…by pushing with all his might for huge and sweeping “gun control” schemes in the lame-duck session.

Additionally, for many Democrats (and even the more liberal Republicans) who do not face re-election this November, the writing is clearly on the wall. … This lame-duck session will likely be a “sour grapes” gathering like none we’ve seen in our lifetimes.

What are some of the things a lame-duck Congress might do to your gun rights? Think hard on these points:

  1. The very most dangerous? What if one of the pro-Second Amendment Justices on the Supreme Court dies, or retires for health reasons? A lame-duck session of Congress could push through an anti-gun appointee with no more opposition than the Sotomayor or Kagan confirmations received. The stage will be set for the overturning of both the Heller and the McDonald decisions. Crazy and paranoid? Think again.
  2. A renewed “Assault Weapons Ban”. It’s official: Obama wants it. Further sales of so-called “military patterned” rifles would be outlawed, and registration of existing rifles would almost certainly be mandated (as they were in California during the last AWB).
  3. All used military brass could once and for all be ordered destroyed by a command of Congress. Don’t think the anti-gun cabal ignores ammunition re-loaders. Far from it. By striking economically at ammunition re-loaders, the anti-gun politicians know that they are punishing many of the truly hard core gun owners and 2A advocates. …
  4. Ammunition, gun powder, primers, bullets and factory brass could be burdened with huge increases in excise taxes and/or a license to purchase. Congress is desperate for tax revenues.
  5. The U.N. could easily fast track the Small Arms Treaty and it might even be approved by a lame-duck Senate. Hillary Clinton has been busy with this one. She and Obama, and a whole pack of ardent “gun control” supporters, are in full agreement on this deeply anti-American treaty.

Encourage your friends and neighbors to buy guns and ammo NOW. Buy any and all firearms and ammunition you can afford. Do so as quickly and privately as you possibly can. Take proactive moves now, before a lame-duck Congress and this aggressively anti-American President closes the door even further on your right to protect the lives of yourself and your loved ones.

These concerns are very real. If you aren't worried enough already, extrapolate this logic to what the lame duck session can do to everything else while they are at it.

What part of "Shall not be infringed" do the Democrats not understand. We The People ARE "The Militia, weather they like it or not. WE have the RIGHT to posses and bear Arms. Congress does NOT have the power to take our right to defend ourselves. The British tried and failed. Gun owners will not be stripped of "The RIGHT!!!

AR 15 that is why they said what they did at the end of the article, because we may have fight to keep those rights as I and many others already have on forign shores, but this time it might be right here in our own country God Forbid.this is one reason along with all the coruption in the UN I say "Get the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US" they want us to be a One World Order a third would country with a dictator.

God Bless America and Our Troops Past Present and Future Keeping to My Oath Locked Loaded and Keeping My Powder Dry

I say vote any Democrat or Republican who is anti-gun out of office in November. They will only get the message when pollsters and pundits show, not tell them and the public why they lost. They wiil continue to pick and choose which part of the constitution to use for all their agenda. September 11th is a good example where bleeding heart liberals say freedom of religion is a first amendment right and have no restrictions; but second amendment rights? Oh, that is a different story. They are putting our country in so much jeopardy as terrorists view this mindset as easy pickings to destroy America. All of us either Jew or Gentile must stick together and save our country from theses head in the cloud liberals who are neither realistic or pragmatic and we must save our country from their disatrous agenda.

Ok - here is what I have done -- I can't be sure that it works, but I do get to let off steam and give earfuls to Republican telephone contribution solicitors. After first donating a small amount $25-$35,they WILL call you wanting more for "emergency" situations/elections. You get to tell them "Hell no, I'm giving the RNC,or the Republican Senatorial,or Republican Congerssional Committees because of the vote of: Then you have a list by the phone from either the NRA or the National Assoc. of Gun Owners etc.on which you have highlited all of the Republicans tha voted to confirm Sotomayor or Kagan or Holder or any other of those despicable so-and-sos.Read the list. Tell them you can't vot for the Senator/Congressman but you WILL vote by withholding any further contributions. They may even let you talk to a supervisor, and you can say it all over again ON THEIR DIME!! They will call back. You get to do over and over.Last time I said "and you can tell Michael Steele why I don't intent to contribute!!" Now I don't know how much total effect I've had BUT imagine if they heard that 3000 times in one day, or even 300 times. There may be some degree of influence felt and for not a great cost. My $35.00 three years ago gets me abbout one call a month. Drives my wife nuts, but my speech is fairly well rehersed an practiced, and they don't hang up when I get a little off color. They also keep my mailbox full of literature that I write rejection notices on,with the reasons why and send them back on their postage. So there boys and girls is the way I'm skinning that cat.I just wish I knew that it was working.

Like MANOLORA, I have also made it a matter of policy that whomsoever solicits me for contributions and/or sales.....be it on the phone or through the mail.....must provide me with assurance that they support my Second Amendment rights. Now, I must confess, that I screen all incoming phone calls through my caller ID, thus limiting the number of calls that I actually answer. I also confess that with postal solicitations, I only write back to the solicitor if they provide a postage paid envelope. Beyond that, I always challenge any solicitations to which I pay any attention, to prove a pro-Second Amendment stance. Also, as I have stated in the past, I boycott any business or product that has been known to contribute funds to anti-Second Amendment organizations.

I believe that if enough of us took the time and effort to make businesses and organizations aware of our stand concerning our Second Amendment rights, we could bring about some positive change. It is incumbent on each one of us to educate the masses concerning our Constitutional rights.
