(GunReports.com) - LaserLyte has added the Mini Bayo to LaserLyte’s line of Pistol Bayonets. LaserLyte, in association with Ka-Bar Knives, offers the new Mini Bayo that features a web cutter, serrated blade and unique chiseled edge.

The Mini Bayo was specially designed by prominent knife maker Ethan Becker of Becker Knife and Tool, who has designed survival knives and tools for more than thirty years.

The razor-sharp, 2.75 inch Ka-Bar blade fits on any medium to large pistol with rail and slides on and off

easily with the press of two buttons.

Its stainless steel blade is sharpened to a fine edge and finished with a black oxide coating for protection. Featuring a full tang design, the blade also comes with a custom polymer sheath.

What the hell are you supposed to do with that?

The Laserlyte people obviously have way too much time on their hands.

I'd love to see the holster, LOL!

Agreed with the above comments. The very idea of putting a contact weapon on a handgun defeats the very purpose of the handgun. Those of us who possess CHL, and/or carry our pieces under constitutional carry laws, are well aware of the need to keep the handgun away from one's adversary, lest the handgun be neutralized by that adversary. What is one supposed to do when the bayonet has been stuck into the adversary and can't be withdrawn? Do you shoot it loose?

The chisel really works for me when I'm sculpting at the range.

I would gather it is to be used to cut a seat belt, but who with a modem of common sense would take the time to attach it to your carry arm to cut a belt. Wouldn't make more sense to open a jack knife to cut your belt to get out of a jammed safety belt?

If I ran out of bullets, I think I'd run like hell and not hang around to stabb somebody. Then, with my luck, as I was running, I'd probably trip and fall on the blade and kill myself! Maybe the intent is for us to skin our assailant, gut him and hang him on the wall of our dens like a trophy?

After thinking about it, I bet the real reason for the blade is so that if we shoot the bad guy in defense, we can then do a quick surgery and remove the bullet(s)so nobody knows whose gun shot the bullet?

This really isn't a new idea. I saw an article a while back in G&A, AR, or similar about the history of bladed pistols...

Hey Canovack - you're starting to sound like Gaviota whining about tacti-cool rimfires! (jes playin' with ya Gav!) What are you supposed to do with it??? Hell, who cares, it's kinda cool!

Could be useful as an anti-grab-the-gun device.

Well, PVB, maybe it would just be fun to have one of those things hanging on the wall in my home office.

Exactly colonel! Or in the hallway next to the bedroom arsenal... ;)

What a useless piece of junk. Could only be for the Mall Ninjas....stupid
