Repairing Inexpensive Colt 22 Rifles: Courier, Colteer and Stagecoach

If someone were to ask you which products Colt has sold over the years, would you say a .22 semiautomatic rifle? I didn’t think you would. Colt made three versions of .22 rifles, the Courier, Colteer and Stagecoach, as well as others under several private-label names for Sears, Wards and other companies. This alloy rifle shot well, but did not hold up well. Unless it was kept oiled and clean, the alloy parts wore very rapidly. In spite of this, the little Colt rifles were good enough lightweight shooters that most owners will pay to get them fixed rather than discard theirs.

Troubleshooting Ejection Failures On the Remington 1100

Introduced in 1963, the Remington Model 1100 shotgun has been around for over 40 years now. Variations include a sporter for field shooting, a Magnum version for ducks and geese, as well as a skeet and trap model for those who enjoy breaking clay targets. In all, there have been well over 3,500,000 Model 1100s produced over this period of time so you are bound to see one (or more) come across your bench. In this article, I’ll cover some of the common problems that result in ejection failures along with a few of the possible glitches that aren’t seen very often. And, of course, I’ll examine the cures that will help you get this shotgun back in service as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Evil + Stupid = Bipartisan

What's ahead for the midterms? Jeff Knox at The Firearms Coalition says, 'There might be a few Democrats who haven't been able to bring themselves to declare support for the Second Amendment, but the official party line is broad support for the constitutional right, while interpreting it in the narrowest terms, and doing all they can to undermine and dismantle it.' As for the other party, 'Republicans, on the other hand, are generally supportive of the right to arms, but few of them have any more understanding of the issue than do the Democrats. They definitely lack the resolve and the backbone to vigorously oppose the Democrats' attacks on the Constitution and the President's appointments of radical extremists to the courts and high level government positions.'

Lautenberg Legislation Cloaks Gun Ban Agenda as Anti-Terror Tool

June 22, 2009

Printer Friendly | Email |

BELLEVUE, Wash. – Legislation introduced June 22 by veteran anti-gun New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg is designed to expand his gun prohibition agenda under the cloak of national security, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said.

Sen. Lautenberg’s new “Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act of 2009” would place unprecedented authority in the hands of the Attorney General to deny someone their Second Amendment rights without having been convicted, or even charged, with any crime.

Instead, under this legislation, someone whose name is added – for whatever reason – to a terrorist watch list can suddenly find himself or herself prohibited from exercising their constitutionally-protected rights based on nothing more than suspicion.

“Frank Lautenberg has devoted his entire political career to stripping as many citizens as possible of their firearm civil rights,” noted CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “His motivation appears to be a Government Accountability Office report that asserts 963 cases of known or suspected terrorists trying to buy firearms over a five-year period from 2004 through February of this year. However, in 90 percent of those cases, the purchases were allowed after the buyer cleared an FBI instant background check.

“Lautenberg calls this the ‘terror loophole’,” he added, “yet neither he, nor anyone else, can adequately explain how someone gets their name on a so-called ‘terrorist watch list,’ and there appears to be no way to get one’s name off such a list once it is there.

“In Lautenberg’s world view,” Gottlieb observed, “any American citizen interested in owning a gun is a potential terrorist. Would he add all of our names to such a watch list, thus stripping us of our Second Amendment rights, without first being charged, prosecuted and convicted of some crime? Probably he would."

Frank Lautenberg is in the same club as Ted Kennedy, Chuck Shumer, Chris Dodd, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, etc, etc. They all have an irrational fear of honest, law abiding citizens who own firearms. In reality, their agenda is really not gun control; it is people control. Typical of so many left-wing liberals, they want nothing less than a disarmed society that will pose no threat to them as the go on in the delight of telling other people what to do, while they hold themselves above the law. It is incumbent on all of us who love our country, our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, our American way of life, to fight the radical left-wing zealots until.....as Charleton Heston so aptly used to say....."Out of my cold, dead hands"!

You are so right Col. Novack, its about people control. How do you think the Revolutionary war got started? The British tried to disarm citizens for control, not for public safety. The liberals try and hide behind the public safety issue for gun control, could not be farther from the truth. Well it didn't work out for the British and it isn't going to work for the liberals. This is why history repeats itself, because some are too ignorant to learn from the mistakes of the past.

Senator Lautenberg is a loose canon who should have been put out to pasture numerous years ago. I suspect his agenda is personal, and not that of his constituents. I am a motorcyclist and a couple of years ago he wrote a letter to all 50 governors encouraging them to pass laws on mandatory helmet usage. In his own federal highway report he quoted, there were more fatalities for motorcyclists who wore helmets than those who didn't. He had no explanation for that and I doubt if he has even ridden a cycle.

On the topic of weapons, does he have armed security protection. If so, how can he reconcile that? He is no more important than Joe the Plumber, Tanya the Teacher, etc.

This Senator along with Fienstien,Boxer and Palosie from Commifornia are all alike they don't care about the American people period and most of the liberals are the same way. The only way we can stop this crap is to drag the out of thier cushy offices and through them in the street fisacally.

The Hell with them!! I'll just go out and buy more guns. I don't break any laws, Why should I suffer and give up my pride and possessions? The best defense to terrorism is a good offense. A good offense is a well armed American Public!! Want to stop the unlawful sales to the terrorists or the South of the border drug cartel? Use some common sense...if a subject acts like a criminal (too nervous or too cool) do the wise thing and do not sell the gun to them. If you are a dealer and are looking for the fast buck you are going to have a crowd of seedy characters surrounding you wanting to buy your guns with no questions asked. Say no to these scumbags and sell the gun to responsible law abiding people. You will not go out of business. There are plenty of us good people out here. As for the Left Wing Whack Jobs in Congress...they are in need of a day at the range to be taught the proper respect in handling a firearm and safely having a good time shooting it!! Just my 2 cents.

It is quite evident that Senator Lautenberg didn't pay attention in history class and learn this nation was formed by armed American Citizens who were resistant to being controlled. I have no use for anyone who doesn't recognize the 2nd amendment. If an armed America concerns you, then you should find another Country to live in.It is disrespectful to work against the dreams of our Forefathers and the perished Revolutionary War heros.

I heard Bernie Goldberg on Fox News the other day, talking about Congress, put it concisely and succinctly: "They don't care what we think. The ONLY thing they care about is re-election."

We've got to stop re-electing them. It's the only thing that will prevent this country from collapsing into a slaughterhouse. If it comes to that, I guess I'd rather be a slaughterer than a slaughteree, but I sure wish that storm wasn't gathering on the horizon.

Gaviota

Remember the million mom march? It's getting time for the million angry taxpayers march. Uniform of the day will be torches and pitchforks. Maybe all Congress needs is a little meaningful dialogue with the citizens they're supposed to be working for.
