MPA redesigned the Defender CA pistols to meet California pistol requirements for the weapon to be considered a single-shot pistol.

MasterPiece Arms Defender Pistol Now California Compliant

October 3, 2011

(GunReports.com) -- MasterPiece Arms (MPA) Defender series of Pistols has been tested and has met with all of the State of California’s requirements on the sale and ownership of a single-shot pistol.

The California Edition Defender pistols include models for the top and side-cocking, 9mm and .45 ACP. MPA redesigned the Defender CA pistols in their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Carrollton, Georgia to meet California pistol requirements for the weapon to be considered a single shot pistol.

This includes “single-shot only” capability, a permanent muzzle-break and zero round capacity “dummy” magazine. MPA’s magazine lock design renders the “dummy” magazine “non-detachable” under California law.

The California compliant Defender pistols meet all size and length requirements, as well. All pistols include a MasterPiece Arms case for the pistol and accessories and a lifetime warranty on every one of MasterPiece Arms Defender pistols.

California compliant? Doesn't that mean it shoots kiwi, avocado and guava flavored gum drops?

Why bother, I'll bet they don't sell one in Ca.

And this one shot pistol allows you to defend against who ??? Sheesh and California used to be a good place to live until the progressives and every other diverse category took over the state.

To the good people of California, take back your state!

Good God! What a bunch of loonies govern that state!

You are absolutely correct, Colonel. Loons and buffoons, that comprises our governance. Are we in California safer because the Defender is now a "legal" single shot versus an "illegal" semi-auto? Of course not. But is some legislator happy about this "victory?" You can bet you bippy they are.

IT'S TOO LATE! California was already over-run with psycho legislators 25 years ago! I couldn't take it anymore;I moved away!

I'm not sure a one-shot pistol is much of a defense unless everyone involved is armed with flintlocks.

On the other hand, didn't the Allies issue a few thousand or so sheet-metal single shot pistols in .45 to the French Resistance? They do have a use if you need to ambush an enemy soldier to get your hands on military grade weapons - but then, you could use a Louisville Slugger instead.

And speaking of moving from CA, what's up with bear1 lately? I've not seen any post from Mr. Locked-and-loaded-and-keeping-my-oath lately. Anybody got any news?

Dunno about bear1. Since I don't know him by anything but his handle, it isn't likely that we can trace him. When Gaviota disappeared for a while, I knew his real name, and I was able to track him. Gaviota has been off-line because he has changed jobs, and the new one keeps him gone from home for long spells. Without bear1's name, it is nigh on impossible to determine where he may be. Hopefully he will reappear.
