(GunReports.com) -- The Hill's Blog Briefing Room reports that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said Attorney General Eric Holder and senior Justice Department officials have misled Congress about a failed government operation that provided firearms to Mexican drug cartels.
I dont know what theyve got to hide, the Kentucky Republican said on Fox News Sunday.
McConnell said its really quite unusual to be stonewalled like this by high officials of an administration.
The minority leader also suggested Lanny Breuer, who heads the Justice Departments criminal division, has not been honest with lawmakers.
I understand its embarrassing for them, McConnell said.
When pressed on whether he believes Holder knowingly misled lawmakers, McConnell backed down, saying he does not know.

You know, if the GOP would take HALF the interest in this that they have shown for choking the budget or killing Obamacare, we'd be rid of Holder in less than a month, and it might just lead to them getting BO's head on a plate too. Apparently however, none of them is smart enough to see this potential. Maybe some or all of them secretly support disarmament too? After all, they do work to build a corporate-government nation, fairly consistently leading the way to Wall St. control of US finance and CEO control of Congress. If you see a little varmint in the woods colored black&white.(SKUNK)you can paint it a different color BUT it is still a SKUNK)seems as if there are a lot of them running around WASHINGTON,DC. It appears that McConnell is being a bit too polite. C'mon Mitch.....Holder is outright lying and covering his ass. Holder lied and people died! Now about Obama... Why can't the Senator use common language? Holder didn't "mislead" in his testimony, he flat out lied. And when he wasn't lying he was stonewalling. Holder needs to be impeached, convicted and removed now. The time for polite language is long over. It is sort of like their favorite expression, "My Esteemed Collegue". That really means "This Prick Here". They speak their own language so us common folk can't understand them. Oh, we can understand them, alright..... The language is just part of the game they play that makes them feel above all of us common folk. Did anyone else notice that they slipped that little proviso through congress, attached to the funding bill, henceforth, even U. S. citizens "accused" of terrorism can be handed over to the military for detention without access to counsel. As I've said before Cecil - ONE executive order from full-blown tyranny - that would be the one declaring martial law over 'public unrest' - like an anti-war protest march. And as you know, they've already defined nearly everything you can think of as potentially terrorist. So nearly all of us will be candidates for 'military rendition'. The Army Field Manual now includes interrogation techniques ala GITMO as OK - or so I hear. I haven't seen the new version yet. Here's today's news on Holder: http://www.examiner.com/gun-rights-in-national/new-york-times-stacks-deck-so-holder-can-play-race-card?CID=examiner_alerts_article Always good for a story, isn't he? He must love the publicity. Well, he IS black. Duh. LOL Just my opinion, but.... No matter how badly you F up, if you're black you can apparently blame any criticism of the fact on 'racism'. Hmpf! I think it's racist to accuse white people of racism when they point out that you screwed the pooch. To claim racism when somebody points out that you screwed up is like trying to excuse it by saying "Yeah, I F'd up but hey, it's a 'black thing' so it's OK". Sounds just like "how dare you criticize me? I'm black and that's be best I can do". How does that kind of attitude help race relations? But then, I suppose any excuse is better than none at all. Sort of like one of Michael Vick's football buddies, trying to defend his dog fighting. "It's a cultural thing". Man that could open a lot of doors.
