LAS VEGAS--Award-winning comedian Dennis Miller is scheduled to headline the State of the Industry dinner on Tuesday evening, Jan. 19, in the Palazzo Ballroom of the Venetian Hotel and Casino as part of the 2010 Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show and Conference sponsored by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF).
The evening includes a cocktail reception, dinner, State of the Industry multimedia presentation, and entertainment by five-time Emmy award winner Dennis Miller.
Over the years, Miller has become both a public and critical favorite. The New York Times said, Mr. Miller is exquisitely attuned to contemporary foibles...his material can be scathing, his delivery low key...Mr. Miller reaches a bit

The Hollywood Reporter called his most recent special, an hour of topical, scathing brilliance that helps cement Millers status as the Lenny Bruce of the new millennium...the most cerebral, astute and clever standup ever to put mouth to microphone.

Dennis Miller is no friend to gun owners. He has berated the NRA at every opportunity, the man has no respect for the right to keep and bear arms.
"During a recent interview, Miller said "I'm basically a libertarian. I'm pro-gay marriage and pro-choice, but nobody wants to hear all that.... They determine who you are based on the war."
I love it when Dennis goes off on one of his rants. When he gets going, nobody does it better.
He'll probably be a good addition to the SHOT show.
Interesting. I vividly remember Mr. Miller including in one of his rants "everyone knows there are too many guns!" I believe it was on O'Reilly's show.
I remember Dennis getting into it with Mr Heston when he had his HBO show(8 or 10 years ago). He seemed pretty anti-gun at the time. However I listen to him on the radio a couple times lately and he seems to have gone much more to the right then he was in the past. I get the impression the liberal destruction of California has some how woke him up.
jwag74: You're quite right. The Dennis Miller of today is not the same as the Dennis Miller of ten or fifteen years ago. Even so, every man has a journey to make, and if Dennis is not as far along on his as some of us, I'm willing to help him along.
As for his scathing humor, I love it because he attacks idiots of all races, creeds, colors, and politics. I'll never forget his rant on the O'Reilly show about James Carville. "You just ask him a question and you might as well yank the pull starter on that ugly garlic knot of a head of his. He starts yipping away like some satanic Chihuahua under a strobe light...He's more unhinged than a tater cellar door in a Cat 5 hurricane!
I haven't laughed that hard in this decade. Man, that was funny!

I never like Dennis Miller. I thought he was about as funny as Conan. You need to be toked up to the point where you find humor in everything.
"...yipping away like some satanic Chihuahua under a strobe light..."
Now THAT'S funny! I don't care who ya' are.
Miller's not CarrotTop, for sure, but he does go off pretty good on ol' "Dingey" Harry Reid:
