(GunReports.com) -- Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. has rolled out the Ruger Single-Ten, a ten-shot single-action revolver chambered in .22 Long Rifle.
The Single-Ten features a ten-shot cylinder and is constructed from satin-finished stainless steel. It has a 5.5" barrel and smooth, walnut "Gunfighter" grips, and Williams fiber optic sights, which are click-adjustable for both windage and elevation.
While this gun might be a bit tedious for loading and ejecting empties, it rivals most .22 auto pistols for cartridge capacity. Of course, if one wanted to speed up the loading and ejection process, one could opt for the Smith & Wesson ten-shot .22 revolver. At any rate, though, this could be a lot of fun. Hopefully fixed sights will be available soon along with a 22/22 mag cylinders like the single 6. They will also add a 17HMR as well although I can't figure on a 17HMR handgun; all its advantages are lost with the short barrel Didn't Taurus amongst others already do this? And probably cheaper!!! Yeah, Taurus has really become a force with which to be reckoned. Long ago, Taurus was looked upon as a maker of cheap, junky handguns. Today, due to American leadership in the corporate structure, Taurus has become a producer of innovative, quality products. I'd bet that Ruger likely took their cue from Taurus in producing this "Single-Ten". Smith & Wesson has also taken a cue from Taurus with the production and marketing of the "Governor", a knock-off of the Taurus Judge, that provides even more features than the Judge.
