SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--Consumers who buy a new M&P15 Rifle in 5.56mm can get five free magazines under a new promotion that runs through through Dec. 31, 2009.

The magazines are the 30-Round Black PMAG or 10-Round Aluminum Magazines, depending on state and local regulations.

The offer is for "new, complete M&P15 Rifles chambered in 5.56mm only, excludes upper or lower receivers. M&P15-22 Rifles are not eligible for this promotion."

It's a mail-in rebate, so consumers must complete the rebate coupon, which you can find below.

Must be 5.56 chambered rifle sales are slumping quite a bit. Most likely due to the poor performance feedback from our soldiers abroad. .308 / 7.62 is a more effective round. However, I must admit that firing a .444 round from a Marlin sure was pleasurable.
