(GunReports.com) -- Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) has won the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers' Firearms Manufacturer of the Year award for the fifth consecutive year.
The award was presented during the Association's 38th Annual Meeting in Reno, NV. This award recognizes Rugers excellence in four key business areas: distribution policy; marketing, sales and promotion; logistics and operations; and NASGW and industry support.
Ruger is incredibly grateful to have been awarded Manufacturer of the Year for the fifth year in a row, said Ruger CEO Mike Fifer.
We cant be an industry leader without strong wholesaler support and cooperation, so we continue to develop new products and marketing strategies that will benefit distributors of Ruger firearms, said Vice President of Sales and Marketing Chris Killoy. We appreciate this recognition of our efforts to help distributors receive high-quality products and support from Ruger."
I think this used to be called "Yankee know-how" or something like that, right? Good old-fashioned American manufacturing. Yeah..... Remember that Bill Ruger and Larry Sturm got their start with a little .22 LR pistol. What a magnificent juggernaut their company has become. Some people are put off by Ruger firearms, due to style or other parameters, but in all the decades I have been shooting and collecting, I have always found Ruger products to be robust, well engineered, and reasonably priced. Ruger is certainly an American success story. And don't forget Bill Ruger was the first manufacturer to support the 5-round magazine restriction!
