Umarex USA Expands .45 caliber
Regent Handgun Line

January 10, 2012

Printer Friendly | Email |

(GunReports.com) — Umarex USA is expanding its line of .45 ACP handguns with the addition of the Regent Handgun Line.

The new R200S is a stainless version of Umarex USA’s Regent R100S 1911 A1 style handgun. The R200S is already shipping with Hogue grips installed and factory standard customized features such as a beavertail grip safety, ambidextrous thumb safety, commander-style hammer, and skeleton trigger. This Regent stainless retails for under $600.

The R350CR is expected to ship this spring. This compact variant of the 1911 has a four-inch barrel and is equipped with a rail, beavertail grip safety, ambidextrous thumb safety, commander-style hammer, skeleton trigger, and a checkered front strap. Also shipped with Hogue grips, the Regent R350CR is expected to retail for under $550.

Adam Blalock, President and CEO of Umarex USA said, “The strong success of the Regent R100 illustrates that the consumer is looking for a high-quality, value driven 1911. The quality of the Regent is unparalleled in the market for its retail price point, and in 2012, we are adding two additional Regent handguns that offer outstanding features normally found in much higher priced models. Combining quality with affordable retail prices, consumers will clearly recognize the value of both the Regent R200S and R350CR.”

Any Umarex owners here? What do you think of the products?

Purchased their Colt 1911-22. Handled OK and shot low however, the main thing was the finish and fitting. Finish wore down to base metal after 4 magazines. Luckily, the gun shop refunded my money and put it in their used weapons display case. You get what you pay for! The gun shop I deal with is the one I have been going to for 20+ years--that is the only reason that they did the deal for me. By the way, the money returned was spent on a Sig 1911-22.

Thanks for your story 7mag.

I don't want to sound like the guys complaining about yet another M1911 flooding the market, but it does seem that everybody who has any industrial capacity whatsoever is building a 1911 and trying to sell it. As in everything else, you get what you pay for. Sometimes we find some honest-to-goodness bargains, but it is usually the exception rather than the rule. Still, it seems like a positive development, when lots of companies try their hand in the business of manufacturing firearms. As long as the consumers are careful in their selections, the more the merrier!

This is the fourth time I checked this post, and something just dawned on me. Aren't these the guys who make the guns that shoot plastic BB's of about .22 cal? I'm thinking of the ones made from metal, that somehow (!) look just like real battle weaponry. The ones that can allegedly be converted to shoot real bullets - according to some politico here in CT.

You may be right david b. I was just flipping through a Cabellas catalog that arrived today, and I think I saw the Umarex BB guns in there.
