Repairing Inexpensive Colt 22 Rifles: Courier, Colteer and Stagecoach

If someone were to ask you which products Colt has sold over the years, would you say a .22 semiautomatic rifle? I didn’t think you would. Colt made three versions of .22 rifles, the Courier, Colteer and Stagecoach, as well as others under several private-label names for Sears, Wards and other companies. This alloy rifle shot well, but did not hold up well. Unless it was kept oiled and clean, the alloy parts wore very rapidly. In spite of this, the little Colt rifles were good enough lightweight shooters that most owners will pay to get them fixed rather than discard theirs.

Troubleshooting Ejection Failures On the Remington 1100

Introduced in 1963, the Remington Model 1100 shotgun has been around for over 40 years now. Variations include a sporter for field shooting, a Magnum version for ducks and geese, as well as a skeet and trap model for those who enjoy breaking clay targets. In all, there have been well over 3,500,000 Model 1100s produced over this period of time so you are bound to see one (or more) come across your bench. In this article, I’ll cover some of the common problems that result in ejection failures along with a few of the possible glitches that aren’t seen very often. And, of course, I’ll examine the cures that will help you get this shotgun back in service as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Evil + Stupid = Bipartisan

What's ahead for the midterms? Jeff Knox at The Firearms Coalition says, 'There might be a few Democrats who haven't been able to bring themselves to declare support for the Second Amendment, but the official party line is broad support for the constitutional right, while interpreting it in the narrowest terms, and doing all they can to undermine and dismantle it.' As for the other party, 'Republicans, on the other hand, are generally supportive of the right to arms, but few of them have any more understanding of the issue than do the Democrats. They definitely lack the resolve and the backbone to vigorously oppose the Democrats' attacks on the Constitution and the President's appointments of radical extremists to the courts and high level government positions.'

Willows School District

Student’s appeal overturns his expulsion for having two shotguns in his truck parked off campus

NEWSREVIEW.COM, Calif.--The Glenn County Board of Education is giving 17-year-old Gary Tudesko another shot at completing his high-school education in the classroom.

The Willows Unified School District expelled Tudesko in November for having two unloaded shotguns inside of his locked truck parked just outside of school grounds. He had been duck hunting that morning before classes and drove straight to school.

The expulsion caught the attention of national media outlets, and a couple of prominent special-interest groups who supported the embattled student’s appeal. Attorneys for the National Rifle Association and the California Rifle and Pistol Association rallied, and on Friday (Jan. 22) the board ordered the school to re-enroll Tudesko.

That decision occurred after school officials revealed portions of Tudesko’s academic and disciplinary record.

The hearing minutes record just what the commenters said here on GunReports.

1. The school district exceeded it's authority; 2. The acts on which the expulsion was based did not fall under the school's jurisdiction; 3. The pupil was not afforded a fair hearing; 4. The pupil was not allowed to present exculpatory evidence; 5. The principal made prejudicial comments at the hearing indicating that the student could have avoided expulsion by confessing to a crime; 6. The school district was guilty of a prejudicial abuse of discretion by failing to consider other corrective actions; 7. The school district failed to make a finding that the presence of the student on campus caused a continuing danger to the physical safety of other students; 8. The school district was ordered to reinstate the student, expunge all references to the expulsion, and pay all costs incurred by the student's parents.

Justice is expensive, but I'm really glad to see that the NRA and the California Rifle & Pistol Ass'n. stood up when it counted and helped this young man and his family with good legal representation. Pats on the back and well-done all around!

The logic I read about why the school board felt they were justified was scary. As the federal government is out of control, so too are many local entities. Tried opening a small business lately? Would you like to compete on equal footing with Walmart or Cabela's?

Yes it is gratifyng that the NRA and CR&PA stepped in to help and that the student was exonerated and reinstated. Makes me proud to be an NRA member.

Unfortunately, the Glenn County school district will just pass the monetary costs on to the taxpayers. Like when the government assesses fines against banks for the misdeeds of their executives, the shareholders and customers wind up paying the bill. A better remedy, one that would send a crystal clear message to like-minded school admistrators, would be for the principal and anyone else who violated Gary Tudesko's rights to be dismissed from their jobs.

the same message that was sent to the prosecutor at Duke univ when he was disbarred, so too the principal.

Our government is way out of control and so corrupt that they point the finger at innocent people to hide their crimes. Our nation needs to step back to the forties and get a damn backbone again. What used to be normal is now considered criminal. Because of such liberal thinking look what we're facing as a nation considering the crime and corruption. If we don't take a good many steps backward and reinstate the values, morals, ethics and standards of our grandfathers generation we will and are sinking fast. To hell with this generation of political correctness. If someone dosen't like what I feel or believe then don't listen and move on. People need to quit this whining and think country first not me first.

"What used to be normal is now considered criminal."

Flip that around and it applies to many government officials.

I would love to say that Common Sense has prevailed but this is California and everyone knows that there is NO COMMON SENSE left alive here in the Golden State. Just think, if he had shot a limit of birds and taken them to the principal's office, he might be accused of trafficking in dead animals or some such crap. Thank GOD there is a judge in that county that has a head on his/her shoulders and told that school superintendent that he was WAY OUT OF LINE!! Thanks to the NRA ans CRPA for assisting this young hunter and our cause in general.

only one got it right: the principal should have been disciplined, and the school board; these things don't happen without "checking" with the board!

Go back and read our comments on the first article that appeared a few months back and reflect on the main issue. A few trying to exert power over many. There are REAL criminals out there, and Mr.Tudesko doesn't appear to be one of them. The school board, on the other hand.............

I am happy for the ending here, but sad for the MANY little similar things happening elsewhere in the U.S.!
