Repairing Inexpensive Colt 22 Rifles: Courier, Colteer and Stagecoach

If someone were to ask you which products Colt has sold over the years, would you say a .22 semiautomatic rifle? I didn’t think you would. Colt made three versions of .22 rifles, the Courier, Colteer and Stagecoach, as well as others under several private-label names for Sears, Wards and other companies. This alloy rifle shot well, but did not hold up well. Unless it was kept oiled and clean, the alloy parts wore very rapidly. In spite of this, the little Colt rifles were good enough lightweight shooters that most owners will pay to get them fixed rather than discard theirs.

Troubleshooting Ejection Failures On the Remington 1100

Introduced in 1963, the Remington Model 1100 shotgun has been around for over 40 years now. Variations include a sporter for field shooting, a Magnum version for ducks and geese, as well as a skeet and trap model for those who enjoy breaking clay targets. In all, there have been well over 3,500,000 Model 1100s produced over this period of time so you are bound to see one (or more) come across your bench. In this article, I’ll cover some of the common problems that result in ejection failures along with a few of the possible glitches that aren’t seen very often. And, of course, I’ll examine the cures that will help you get this shotgun back in service as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Evil + Stupid = Bipartisan

What's ahead for the midterms? Jeff Knox at The Firearms Coalition says, 'There might be a few Democrats who haven't been able to bring themselves to declare support for the Second Amendment, but the official party line is broad support for the constitutional right, while interpreting it in the narrowest terms, and doing all they can to undermine and dismantle it.' As for the other party, 'Republicans, on the other hand, are generally supportive of the right to arms, but few of them have any more understanding of the issue than do the Democrats. They definitely lack the resolve and the backbone to vigorously oppose the Democrats' attacks on the Constitution and the President's appointments of radical extremists to the courts and high level government positions.'

Blackwater Supports Training Restrictions

August 13, 2008

Printer Friendly | Email |

Blackwater Worldwide announced its support of AB2498, proposed legislation that would prevent prohibited persons from unlawful access to and possession of firearms.

This legislation would serve to hold all responsible firearms training facilities to a common standard, allow training of responsible citizens, and, hopefully, reduce firearms capabilities of dangerous criminals.

Blackwater, which recently opened a facility in San Diego County, has long supported a strict credential policy, requiring every student it trains to provide documented proof of their suitability for training and eligibility to possess firearms.

The company is committed to safe training on the use and handling of firearms, but is equally committed to ensuring that those firearms are in the hands of capable and confident citizens, not prohibited felons.

While ms13's have infiltrated the U S Services. Please close the barn door.

all supporters of 2nd admendment should insist on strictly legal gun ownership. nothing wrong with that position.

Blackwater is using a back door manuever here. They want ALL gun owners to be armed under BW's "strict creditial policy." I am familiar with their training procedures. MOST civilians and homeowners could NOT survive BW's training operations. Don't be fooled by a big name. Stick with 2nd Amendment rights which belong to all Americans, not those with special training by a multi-billion dollar corporation like BW.

BW needs to concentrate on training and leave 2nd A. rights and the decision on its Constitutionality with the Supreme Court. They (BW) may mean well, but legal and responsible gun owners in the USA, don't need them interfering with the US Constitution. Support it as written and don't try to rewrite history. Stick to operating your facility and doing your job, let the US Supreme Court do theirs...

This is a perfect example of why we need to get rid of lobbyist's in Congress.

"Blackwater Worldwide announced its support of AB2498, proposed legislation that would prevent prohibited persons from unlawful access to and possession of firearms." Nonsense! I just read AB2498, and the first thing it states: Existing law regulates who may lawfully possess a firearm. Existing law also generally regulates firearm training facilities. Either Blackwater has no clue, or they are trying to mis-lead. Why?

Black water needs to step out of this. As far as the 2nd Amendment, this is not what is needed. Again the Constitution is open to ALL law abiding citizens period.

I was watching a "Soprano" episode last night. Some greaseball talks to Tony Soprano about "post Kartina New Orleans." Tony says something like 'thank God for Dick Cheney.'

The first thing I think is 'what are these scums talking about Cheney for? Then I remember Blackwater and think maybe the Soprano writers know more than I have given them credit for.

Don't think I've ever seen an episode of "Soprano"...is that anything like Groundhog Day with Bill Murray?

Don't know the text of AB2498 but my old man trained me in the safe use of firearms...I think I was about ten years old at the time. Initial reaction is: we need more laws for this? I didn't realize former felons were signing up for courses.

I thought this was for discussing the Blackwater issue? Would the Moderators please remind the member with the stuck Enter key that? Your actions make you look childish.

Support of AB2498 is a BIG Mistake! Think about it. All of us with CCW permits will be required to go through a background check before taking our classes required to renew our permits. And this cancer spreads. In California an Assemblywomen (D) has proposed requiring a background check to purchase any firearms related item such as ammo, replacement parts, rifle scopes. This is a slippery slope.

God forbid we should make sure those who carry guns on a regular basis are both legal owners and proficient with their weapon.

For Glenn A -- I agree with your premise, buddy, but when you have a devious group like Blackwater determining how you and our familes should be trained to meet Blackwater "standards" I think we could be in a world or trouble. I support individual training by legal owners, but not by a devious group like Blackwater.
